Scarborough woman wins Primary Tutor of the Year at National Tutoring Awards
A Scarborough woman is celebrating after winning the coveted title of Primary Tutor of the Year at the National Tutoring Awards.
Fiona Watling-Dodd, 56, has dedicated over thirty years of her life to teaching children.

Mrs Watling-Dodd, who was shortlisted in three categories at the awards said she was overwhelmed to have won the prestigious title.
She said: “I’m absolutely over the moon and shocked.

"I never thought that little old me from Yorkshire would win. I was awestruck – I was up against some big corporations from across the world, but I waved that northern flag proud.
"Last year’s winner came over to me afterwards and said how good my entry was, and said: ‘you’ve inspired me to be more like you!’”
The winners were announced at a glittering awards ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on Friday, July 3.
"It was a magical evening, there were more than 500 people there, some from as far away as Canada, Malta and Cyprus.
The following day Mrs Watling-Dodd took the award with her as she explored the capital city. She said: “I posed for pictures with it at the Sky Garden, Harrods, Pudding Lane, Hyde Park and of course Watling Street because of my name!”
"The kids have all said they are happy for me, and the parents were messaging to say congratulations on the night.”
