Yorkshire coast fire crews kept busy in Scarborough, Pickering and beyond on Monday
Firefighters across Scarborough, Pickering, and the surrounding areas responded to a series of emergency callouts on Monday, October 26.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews dealt with several incidents throughout the day, including fires, a road traffic collision, and damaged property.

Starting at 11.09am, Pickering crews were called to a van fire on Low Moor Lane in Stape.
The fire was out by the time firefighters arrived, though the engine compartment was destroyed.
Crews used a hose reel to cool the engine, with a blown turbo believed to be the cause.
Shortly after, at 12.24pm, Scarborough crews attended a home on Pollard Gardens following reports of a burst water pipe.
Occupants had already isolated the water supply before arrival, and no fire service action was needed.
At 4.16pm, Scarborough firefighters were dispatched to a residential property on Somerset Terrace to inspect a loose chimney stack.
Crews safely dismantled and removed the stack to eliminate any danger.
Callouts continued into the evening across the wider region.
At 5.22pm, crews from York, Malton, and Huntington attended a road traffic collision on the eastbound A64.
Attending firefighters made the vehicle safe and provided first aid to a casualty, before handing care over to paramedics.
At 6.13pm, a Stokesley crew responded to reports of flames sighted in a chimney at a home on The Green in Seamer.
Using a hose reel jet, hand tools, and a chimney kit, responders ensured the fire was extinguished.
Finally, at 7.32pm, crews from Kirkbymoorside and Pickering responded to reports of an extractor fan fire on Pickering’s Hungate.
With a triple extension ladder and a hose reel jet, the fire was put out.
