Courteeners to bring Indie anthems to Scarborough Open Air Theatre in 2027 headline show
Indie rock favourites Courteeners are heading to Scarborough Open Air Theatre next summer as they celebrate two decades as one of Britain's most beloved bands.
Famous for turning arenas and festival fields into mass singalongs, the Manchester outfit will headline Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Saturday June 12, having last played a sold-out show at the venue in 2021.
They will be joined on the night by special guests The Coral and Seb Lowe.
Courteeners is the third announcement of the day for the Scarborough OAT following this morning’s reveals from Shania Twain and Robert Plant with Saving Grace and Suzi Dian.

Tickets for Courteeners and Robert Plant go on sale at 10am Friday November 6 via ticketmaster.co.uk and scarboroughopenairtheatre.com while tickets for Shania Twain go on sale at 9am.
Since releasing their debut album St. Jude in 2008, Courteeners have quietly and confidently established themselves as one of the biggest bands in Britain.
Across a remarkable career spanning almost two decades, the Manchester indie rockers have released seven studio albums and produced fan-favourite tracks including Not Nineteen Forever, Are You In Love With A Notion?, Bide Your Time, Cavorting, No You Didn’t, No You Don’t and Modern Love.
The band have enjoyed consistent commercial success, selling more than one million albums in the UK, with each of their last five albums reaching the Top 5.

In 2023, St Jude completed an extraordinary journey to the top of the charts, reaching Number One 15 years after its original release.
Courteeners are adored by their fans, having cultivated a huge and loyal following nationwide with a stellar reputation for their epic live shows.
Their gigs are massive celebrations where songs become a communal experience between band and fans.
Their welcome return to the Open Air Theatre promises to be another unforgettable night of indie anthems on the Yorkshire coast.

This year marked a major milestone for the band who celebrated their 20th anniversary with the release of God Bless The Band, a greatest hits collection spanning all seven studio albums and featuring two brand-new tracks, The Luckiest Man Alive and Plus One Forever.
The album reached Number Two in the UK Albums Chart.
The landmark year has also seen Courteeners embark on a nationwide headline arena tour.
Joining Courteeners in Scarborough will be psych-pop pioneers The Coral, bringing their kaleidoscopic energy and genre-blending sound to the historic venue.
Their smash hit Dreaming of You remains a firm fan favourite, and with the release of their 13th studio album 388, the band continue to explore new musical territory while staying true to their roots.
Fans can expect a set packed with cult classics, psychedelic flair, and the kind of infectious hooks that have made The Coral one of the UK’s most consistently inventive live acts.
Also on the bill will be Seb Lowe, the fast-rising indie star whose sharp wit, socially conscious songwriting and infectious melodies have made him one of the most talked-about new artists in the UK.
With a growing catalogue of fan favourites and a reputation for captivating live performances, Seb's blend of humour, heart and fearless storytelling is earning him a devoted following and marking him out as one of the country's most exciting emerging talents.
Julian Murray of promoters Cuffe and Taylor, venue programmers at Scarborough OAT, said: “We’re really excited to be welcoming Courteeners back to Scarborough next summer.
"They were a huge hit when they played to a sold-out crowd here in 2021, so it’s great to have them back and give fans another chance to see them live.
“Courteeners are one of the UK’s most beloved live bands, and we know this will be another very special show.
"With The Coral and Seb Lowe joining as special guests, we can’t wait to welcome fans from far and wide for what promises to be another fantastic night and a real highlight of our summer season.”
