New date set for cancelled Scarborough Town Council meeting
The full meeting of Scarborough Town Council has been rescheduled for this week after it was cancelled due to ‘severe’ weather.
Scarborough Town Council’s full meeting, which was last week cancelled due to ‘severe weather’ and a roof leak in the council chamber, has been rescheduled.

The public meeting will now take place on Thursday, November 27, at 7pm at Scarborough Town Hall.
Yellow and amber weather warnings in the region led to the meeting’s postponement, with town mayor Thomas Murray stating at the time: “It simply would not be responsible to ask councillors, officers, or the public to travel or attend in these conditions.

"Safety comes first.”
He added: “All agenda items will be carried forward, so no business is lost and nothing slips through the cracks.
"Thank you for your understanding.”
In an update regarding the new date for the meeting, Scarborough Town Council confirmed that “all agenda items that were scheduled to be considered on November 19 will now be discussed at the meeting on November 27”.
The meeting is set to discuss several motions, including the adoption of an official emblem, HMOs, support for Scarborough 400 celebrations, and the use of hotels and accommodation in the area.
