Fishermen’s started to have a couple of half-chances and should’ve took the lead on 30 minutes when Joe Hutchinson was found free at the back post but his header couldn’t find the target.

Moments later Jack Kilpatrick had a one-on-one with St Mary’s goalkeeper but couldn’t convert after a good save from the visiting custodian.

In the second half Fishermen’s came out firing and soon took the lead through Hutchinson who poked home from close range.

Fishermen’s looked a lot more solid and continued to build creating more chances and soon got their reward from Kaleb Gravett with a lovely first-time finish.

The Fishermen’s third and final goal came from Jos Storr five minutes from time and that concluded the game.

The man of the match was awarded to Jack Cairns and Jack McLoughlin.

Lealholm romped to an 8-0 home win against Cleveland FC in the second round of the Macmillan Bowl, including six goals in the final 25 minutes.

Ashton Dick led the way for the Tigers with a hat-trick, super-sub Aaron Dale adding a double, with further goals coming from Carl Gray, Calum Ripley and sub Matt Green.

Staithes Athletic lost 5-1 at Redcar Town Reserves in the Premier Division.

Connor Brown scored a late consolation for Staithes.

The only local side to beat the bad weather in the Beckett League was Division Two leaders Whitby Fishermen’s Society Development, who extended their advantage at the summit with a 7-3 success at Slingsby United.

Goals in the first 45 minutes from Jay Jordan and Koby Craig set the visitors on their way but it would be the second period when the game really came to life as Jordan grabbed his second, shortly followed by goals from Ewan Locker and Sam Brown.

Coden Hansell made it six with the final quarter of an hour bringing a second for Brown.

Gary Walker would have Slingsby’s only reply with a well-taken hat-trick.
