Ninja dominates Amazon’s air fryer charts, but this Chefman model is the best-selling option that isn’t a Ninja. It’s down to £29.99, so we dug into UK buyer reviews to see if it’s worth it.

While big-name brands usually dominate the charts, the Chefman 2L Mini Air Fryer has built a strong following, with more than 900 bought in the past month and nearly 26,000 reviews. The obvious question is whether a sub-£30 air fryer can genuinely deliver.

This 2-litre model is designed for one to two people, with a digital touchscreen, shake reminder and dishwasher-safe nonstick basket. It heats up to 205°C and is compact enough for small kitchens, flats or even campervans.

We took a look in the comments to see what buyers say about the Chefman.

Andrea described it as “basically a tiny electric oven” but praised the lack of mess and no need to preheat. Joanna called it “Amazing dinky!” and perfect for one person, while Nikita said it fits two chicken breasts without blocking airflow.

Mrs B uses hers in a campervan with a power bank, cooking bacon, burgers and chicken breasts with “everything has come out perfect”. Across reviews, quick heating, easy cleaning and value for money are recurring themes.

There are some durability concerns in the wider Chefman range, with William and Jason reporting electrical faults on larger dual-basket versions after several months. Those issues relate to more complex models rather than this simpler 2L design.

At £29.99 it’s currently 40% off its £49.99 RRP. It has dipped slightly lower in the past, but it has also been priced at around £50, so this sits towards the stronger end of its pricing history and may be worth considering.

Amazon Prime members get free delivery on eligible items. Non-Prime customers may pay delivery charges depending on the order.

It won’t replace a large family air fryer, but for singles, couples or anyone wanting a compact and low-cost way into air frying, this appears to offer solid value – as long as expectations match the size and price.
