Jemison and Harper shine as Moorsiders march on

Jemison batted through for his 80 as Kirkby posted 203-5, Andy Bayes adding 47 and Adam Magson 26.

Simon Oxendale struck 48 in reply, with John Moxon adding 35 as the visitors were dismissed for 133, Harper’s 5-33 cutting through the Lockton batting order.

Flixton 3rds openers Stephen Hill, 95no, and Pete Hill, 55no, steered them to a 10-wicket home success against Forge Valley 3rds.

John Flinton’s unbeaten 109 proved to be in vain as John Sowden’s 3-12 limited the Ayton club to 154-6.

Wold Newton 2nds raced to a 10-wicket win at home to Hospitals/Rugby Club thanks to top bowling from Mark Holtby and Dave Stockdale.

Holtby snapped up 5-13 and Stockdale 4-4 as the visitors sank to 28 all out and Newton eased home without losing a wicket.

Filey 2nds won by 23 runs at home to Nawton Grange 2nds, Ryan Baldry smashing a vital 61 for the Clarence Drive club.

Nathan Marwood claimed 4-32 and George Bentley 3-31 as Filey were all out for 171.

Sam Myers, 52, and Terry Ellis, 34, gave the visitors hope but accurate bowling from Lewis Adams, 4-53, and Ellery Liley, 3-43, saw Grange skittled for 148.

Sherburn 2nds hammered hosts Sewerby 3rds by 173 runs, with batsman Rob Worthy and bowler Jamie Thompson their star men.

Worthy hammered 62, Ben Ryan added 42 and Joel Wharton chipped in with 29 as Sherburn made 189-7, Simon Porter putting in a first-class bowling display to earn 5-36.

Thompson then blew away struggling Sewerby, bagging 6-11 as the clifftop club were shot out for just 16 runs.

Veterans John Ellis and Pat Stephenson guided Thornton Dale 2nds to an eight-wicket home win against division B rivals Snainton.

Ellis snapped up 6-31 as a depleted Snainton slumped to 73 all out, and Stephenson’s unbeaten 33 saw Dale safely home.

Trevor Davies, Matthew Micklethwaite and James Brown all took 3-8 as Cayton 3rds strolled to an eight-wicket win at Ganton 2nds.

Joel Sarup’s 24 was the only innings of note for the hosts, and Cayton only lost two wickets in their run-chase.

Jim McMillan’s 59 helped Muston 2nds earn victory at home to lowly Ravenscar 2nds, with six wickets and eight overs to spare.

Kyle Orange’s 3-18 limited the visitors to 126-9, stand-in skipper Andy Edgar hammering a defiant 62 to keep his side in the game.

Wykeham 3rds won by 39 runs at home to Scalby 3rds, Graham Shannon taking 6-15 for the victorious hosts.

Robin Shepherdson took 3-33 as Scalby were dismissed for 118 in reply to Wykeham’s 157-6, James Wainwright hitting 44 for Scalby and Jack Boddy 36.

George Shannon had led the home team’s innings with 45.
