Pocklington Pixies claim victory against Pocklington School in annual Malcolm Milne Memorial game
Despite a couple of showers, the sun shone for most of the annual Malcolm Milne Memorial game between Pocklington School and Pocklington Pixies, the invitation side of pupils, teachers, old boys and associates, mainly drawn from a clutch of local clubs.
It was a day of family connections as father and son, Tom and Freddie Taylor, compiled a 48-run opening partnership for the Pixies.

Skipper Charlie Rook moved things on with a half-century, before he was bowled by his son, Oli, the school's best bowler with 4-47.
The Pixies declared at 185-5, and the school looked in trouble as 13-year-old Ted Holland took two early wickets to reduce them to 16-3.

The innings was turned round by the Rook brothers, Oli and Tom, but when Oli holed out for 82 the school innings fell away to be dismissed for 153 and a Pixies success by 32 runs.
Pocklington CC 4ths were the club’s only side to complete a game last weekend with the bad weather on Saturday meaning the 1sts, 2nds and 3rds were all called off or abandoned mid way.
The 4ths played on Sunday away against Stamford 4ths and scored 120 batting first, Alex Tong (37) top scoring.
Stamford’s young team struggled in reply but did fight back from 26-8 before eventually being bowled out for 64 as Pock ran out winners.

Ben Davidson (4-13) and Freddie Forman (3-3) in the wickets.
Yapham Ladies were the club’s only team to play at the weekend, with two The Hundred games in the Yorkshire Women and Girls Cricket League.
After a delayed start due to some serious puddles on the Sessay pitch, Yapham elected to bat in a shortened version of the game against the Emeralds.
Robyn Dennington (19 off 10 balls) and Becks Lonsdale (21 not out) helped Yapham post a score of 81-2 from 75 balls.
Sessay took 69 balls to reach the target for the loss of two wickets to win by five wickets.
Doncaster were next up, posting a massive 164 thanks to L Scheiwe (103no) despite wickets from Mia Aconley (1-19) and Alice Bailey (1-32).
Yapham had a good go, Dennington (55no) and Alice Bailey (28) bringing the total to 109-4 as Doncaster won by 56 runs.
