Hosts Bridlington Town edged out by NPL East leaders Bradford (Park Avenue)
Bridlington Town were left frustrated after a Kyle Fanning own goal proved the difference in a narrow 1-0 defeat to league leaders Bradford (Park Avenue) at the HDM Energies Stadium.
The Seasiders created opportunities in both halves but were unable to find an equaliser as relentless heavy rain and strong winds made conditions difficult throughout.

The result left Town without a win in their last two home league games, while Bradford extended their unbeaten league start to 13 matches, having arrived with their best start to a league campaign since 1964.
Bridlington began on the front foot and caused early problems for the visiting defence.

Ahmed Salam delivered a cross from the right which goalkeeper Declan Lambton could not hold, leading to a scramble in the goalmouth before a Bradford defender cleared the danger.
An early flashpoint saw Destiny Nnenanya and a Bradford player booked following an off-the-ball scuffle in the sixth minute.
Both sides looked to get forward, although clear-cut chances remained limited in the dreadful weather.
Town’s Ben Tweed produced an important block after 22 minutes, throwing himself in front of a dangerous effort from the edge of the penalty area.

Bridlington threatened again in the 28th minute when Salam swung a corner in from the right. Alex Markham met the delivery, but his header drifted narrowly wide of the left-hand post.
Despite Town’s promising moments, it was Bradford who broke the deadlock shortly before half-time. Scott Duxbury sent a free-kick forward from just beyond halfway, and Fanning’s attempted headed clearance looped backwards over Alex Baird and into his own net.
The Seasiders almost responded immediately. Luca Bolino played Salam through on goal, but his effort was saved by Lambton, leaving Bridlington trailing at the interval.
Town started the second half positively, with Salam trying his luck from the edge of the box, although his shot was comfortably gathered by the Bradford goalkeeper.

Nnenanya then carried the ball forward into space before firing over the crossbar from outside the area as the hosts continued their search for an equaliser.
Bridlington made a double change after 65 minutes, with Toby Marriott and Eddie Kettlewell replacing Charlie Birdsall and Bolino. Stewart then came on for Nnenanya three minutes later.
Kettlewell came agonisingly close to bringing Town level after going through one-on-one. Lambton parried his first effort before recovering to turn his follow-up out of play.
Hamza Hamdosh replaced Will Marshall in the 82nd minute and was involved in another late opportunity.
Marriott played him through, and his effort struck the crossbar, the ball came back to Hamdosh, but his second attempt was deflected behind for a corner.
Despite those chances, Bridlington could not find the finishing touch.
An unfortunate first-half own goal ultimately settled the contest, leaving the Seasiders empty-handed after a closely fought game in punishing conditions.
