Hunmanby win final league match of season at Driffield to secure promotion
Hunmanby FC secured promotion in their final match of their debut Right Car East Riding County League Division Five campaign.
Hunmanby won 3-0 at Driffield Town Reserves thanks to a strong defensive performance, and equally positive attacking display.

The visitors opened the scoring from Macca Moore after a deflected Jackson Scarlett strike, nestling in the corner from 25 yards.
Just before half-time, man of the match Scarlett beat two players and slotted a very tidy finish past the Driff keeper.

In the second half, Scarlett scored again, following an audacious Billy Lawson overhead kick that landed straight at his feet, and man of the match Scarlett struck a clean volley, sealing the win.
This means that the lowest Hunmanby can finish is third, with the top three promoted.
The whole team deserve credit, from keeper Olly Cooper and the back three of Connor Wilcox, Dan Manning and captain Riley Foster, to Richie Burns just in front, and the midfield quartet Cameron Steele (RWB), Danny Baker, Moore and Lewis Moseley (LWB), led by the front two of Lawson and Scarlett. The bench on Saturday included Kieran Dickerson-Deighton, Sam Jackson, Henry McFadyen, Tom Rowley and Shaun Isaac
Edgehill booked their place in the Right Car East Riding County League Senior Cup with a 4-2 win against Beverley Town Development at Pride Park, Anlaby on Thursday night.

Edgehill now face Hodgsons in the Senior Cup final, the Premiership leaders beating Holme Rovers 4-2 on penalties in the other semi that evening after the scores had been locked at 2-2.
The final will be played on Saturday May 9 at Queensgate, Bridlington, 3pm kick-off.
A competitive opening half-hour saw both sides searching for a breakthrough, with Edgehill creating the better chances.
The deadlock was finally broken on 35 minutes, as Kieran Link powered home a header from a pinpoint corner delivered by 16-year-old Theo Watson.
Edgehill doubled their lead in style, with Kaden Evans unleashing a superb left-footed strike from 30 yards.
Link added his second of the game shortly after, showing great composure to weave past defenders before slotting into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
The skipper then completed his hat-trick, rising highest to meet a long throw from Lloyd Henderson and head home.
Town responded with two quick goals late on, setting up a nervy finish, but Edgehill held firm to secure their place in the final.
Standout performances came from captain Link, George Martin, Lloyd Henderson, and Watson, with Link and Martin sharing the Man of the Match honours.
On Saturday Edgehill faced Beverley Development for the second time in three days, this time in league competition, and produced a strong performance to secure all three points at Pindar.
The hosts made an impressive start, particularly down the right flank, where 16-year-olds Watson and Artie Dodds combined effectively to cause problems for the Beverley defence.
The early pressure paid off in the 16th minute when Lewis Taylor reacted quickest inside the box to convert from close range and give Edgehill a deserved lead.
Edgehill doubled their advantage midway through the half following more positive play from Dodds. His attacking contribution created the opportunity for Ryan Link, who had been a constant threat throughout, to finish confidently from a tight angle.
Despite Edgehill’s control, Beverley reduced the deficit against the run of play.
Edgehill responded well after the break, raising their intensity and regaining control of proceedings.
The game then saw an unusual moment as goalkeeper Martin Cappleman was forced off with a hamstring injury sustained while taking a goal kick, leading to half-time sub Sean Exley stepping in between the posts.
Edgehill continued to press and were rewarded with a third goal, as Link secured his second after good work from Watson, who had switched to the right wing.
Man of the Match went to Jamie Patterson, whose energy, experience, and leadership were instrumental in driving the team forward throughout the contest.
Filey Town lost 5-1 at East Riding Rangers in their Premiership clash, Cam Macdonald netting for Town.
Newby lost 3-0 at fellow Division One strugglers Thorpe Park Rangers, while in Division Two, Westover Wasps drew 2-2 at home to Driffield Town.
In Division Four, Filey Town Development were handed a walkover by Saturday’s scheduled opponents Aldbrough United, boosting Town’s chances of beating relegation.
