Despite the bleak weather, all three Pocklington Town Men's games went ahead, the Reds looking to improve on recent results.

LIV were put on the back foot immediately as Pocklington flew out the blocks.

Their early persistence paid off when striker Joe Milner netted a superb header from a deep cross.

This goal opened the floodgates as the sides went into the half-time break at 2-2, Carl Brewer adding a second goal for the hosts.

LIV sat deeper and chose to hit hosts Pock on the counter-attack with their pace and power, scoring four to secure all three points.

Pocklington 2nds lost 4-3 at Hensall Hawks in York League Division 1.

Town came away empty-handed despite a gutsy performance in poor conditions, goals coming from Tom Knowles, Jason Nattrass and Adam Falkingham.

Pocklington 3rds lost 4-2 at home to fellow Reserve Division B strugglers Church Fenton.

A poor first-half showing left Pock with an uphill battle and 3-0 down at half-time.

A much improved second 45 followed but despite goals from Dan Hudson and Milo Craggs, Pock deservedly went down 4-2 on home turf.
