Pocklington Town earn 1-1 draw at HPL rivals South Cave
Pocklington Town returned from Saturday’s trip to South Cave with a 1-1 draw.
It was a tense first half, both teams feeling their way into the game, trying not to give anything away, writes Daniel Hudson.

Cave saw the majority of the ball, keeping Pock penned back, but the visitors’ red wall stood strong. However the Reds took the lead after a brilliant solo run from winger Luke Cranswick, who set up Sam Hawkett at the back post for what was a brilliant counter-attacking goal.
Town went into half-time 1-0 up with the wind in their sails.

The second half brought more Cave pressure, desperate to get a goal back, but again, amid one-way traffic, Pock stood firm.
There was no way through, until the 65-minute mark when a wonderful free-kick earned Cave a point.
Town 2nds lost 2-1 at fellow York League Division 1 strugglers Bishopthorpe White Rose.
Pock started the brighter having a couple of wayward efforts on the Bishopthorpe goal but a cheap goal against the run of play saw Pock's bubble burst. It was an uphill battle from there on, compounded when Bishopthorpe added a second.
A resurgent second half saw Pock pull a goal back through Ross Pearson but it wasn't to be for the Reds.
