Curtis Rose smashed in five goals as Itis Itis Rovers strolled to an 8-0 win at Ayton to boost their challenge for the Division Three title.

Player-boss Mikey Barker also weighed in with two and Sam Broadbent the other as Rovers swept aside a weakened home side, the visitors also having shuffled their line-up for this match.

Leaders Sherburn remain the team to catch after their 5-1 home win against Hunmanby United Reserves.

Man of the match Harry Walmsley and the predatory Paul Mills smashed in a brace apiece for the home side, with Matt Whitehall also on target, United's star man Tom Brown having levelled for his side from a free-kick shortly after half-time.

Edgehill 3rds are also in the mix after player-boss Martin Cappleman's four-goal blast saw them to a 6-2 home win against Goalsports Reserves.

Club chairman John Larner scored from the spot for the victors, with a scorching 20-yarder from James Barratt completing the scoring for the hosts.

A second-half brace from Zak Hansen secured a 2-0 win for Eastway Sports at a hard-working Seamer Sports 3rds.

Centre-back Joe Turner was named as the Eastway man of the match.

Fishburn Park Reserves returned to winning ways with a 1-0 home success against derby rivals Goldsborough United.

Neil Hart's first-half effort decided the contest, with Sam Wiggins the man of the match for Park after a commanding display in the centre of midfield.

Both teams ended with 10 men as Commercial edged to a 1-0 win at Scalby Reserves.

Aaron Armstrong scored the crucial goal from close-range after a free-kick, while sub Ryan Somers was sent off for the visitors on 70 minutes and Richard Brice also received his marching orders five minutes from time for Scalby.

Lee Plant was Commercial man of the match, with their back three of Armstrong, Ben Watson and Adam Smith in impressive form.

Right-back Ben Dolan and midfielder Matty Bourne were the only ones to shine for a poor Scalby side.
