SATURDAY LEAGUE: Jowett's treble fires Edgehill to Seamer success

Jackson Jowett hit a superb hat-trick to help guide Edgehill to a 6-2 win over Seamer in Division One.

Jowett’s first and a Joel Ramm effort had Steve Clegg’s men 2-1 up at the break, Tom Greenwood on target for Seamer.

Edgehill took control after the break, Jowett adding two more to wrap up his treble, with Kieran Link and sub George Walmsley also on target for the victors.

Danny Glendinning grabbed Seamer’s second of the afternoon.

Jowett, Kieran Link and Ryan Link all shone for the victors, while goalscorer Greenwood was Seamer’s star man.

Newlands hammered Beckett League side Ryedale 8-1 in the North Riding FA County Cup.

Man of the match Ben Luntley hit a hat-trick for the victors, with Liam Salt adding a brace.

Zac Hansen, Issy Macauley and Drew McCoubrey were also on the scoresheet for Newlands.

Filey Town were well beaten at Kirkbymoorside in the Scarborough FA Harbour Cup.

Phil Dickens’ side were second best on the afternoon, playing the last 35 minutes with 10 men after suffering four injuries.

Hunmanby United also exited the competition after a 3-1 defeat on the road at Whitby Fishermens Society of the North Riding Football League.

James Pinder bagged United’s goal.

Westover Wasps’ Harbour Cup clash against West Pier was postponed.

Seamer Reserves edged a nine-goal thriller against Newlands Reserves by a 5-4 scoreline in Division Two.

Brad Walton, Liam Love, Adam Smith, Jensen Bradbury and man of the match Matty Morris were on target for the victors.

Newlands’ star man was 41-year-old Lee Cappleman, who hit two, with Tristan Mustoe and Lee McLaughlin also on target.

Filey Town Reserves beat FC Rosette 2-0.

Man of the match Lee Plant and Jonny Keeble scored for Dan Kempson’s side.

Keeper Mikey Harland was Rosette’s star man.

Eastfield were 3-1 winners on the road at Scalby Reserves.
