Bull said: "Whilst we are all disappointed that we won't be seeing Boro play again in the near future, the club's Board of Directors believe a decision to curtail the 20/21 season to be the best possible outcome given the circumstances we find ourselves in.

"We believe it to be in the best interests of everyone involved with our club, the local community and the sustainability of the club as a whole.

"We are now working through the many issues that this situation has created, such as the impact on all parties involved including our players, staff, volunteers, season ticket holders and our sponsors.

"Once the curtailment has been ratified by the FA we will be contacting all the people and businesses that have been affected personally as quickly as we can.

"Over the coming months we will be doing everything we can to ensure that the impact of the pandemic is minimised and we all need to work together, with Darren, to make sure we come back stronger and ready to start the 21/22 season in a great place."
