Harry Butterworth wins East Yorkshire Cross Country League race at Drewton

Scarborough AC’s Harry Butterworth finished first overall of the total entry of 281 and was 30 seconds ahead of the race runner-up.

He also led the men’s team to a second place finish of 11 teams behind the top City of Hull team.

Daniel Bateson was the next finisher of the five other team members with fourth and first Over-40.

Paul Lawton also achieved a notable top 10 finish in ninth.

The team was completed with Glyn Hewitt 35th, Daniel Watson 44th and Callum Andrews 49th.

The Female team was led by Anna Giddings who finished seventh Female overall of 115.

Nicola Kidd followed up in 14th and second Over-40.

Sue Haslam was 20th and first Over-70. Sally Kingscott closed in for the seventh-placed team in 86th and seventh Over-60.

With only one scoring club by gender, seven club members backed up the scoring team.

Jamie Ward led the support in 54th. He was followed by; Matthew Heaton 67th, Mark Bowes 91st, Laurence Wood 93rd, Peter Smith 112nd, Neil Scruton 121st and first Over-75, and Matt Rutt 132nd.

Twenty-five SAC members took part in the latest Woodlands Scarborough parkrun.

The first finisher for the club was club debutant Tom Guallor Brown, who achieved an overall first place ahead of 148 and was first 15-17 Male.

He was followed by Xabier Unanue, who looked like he might achieve consecutive first club places after last week, but he did succeed with the runner-up placing and first Junior 11-14.

The club’s females were led by Liv Bourne who was third Female overall of 64.

Twelve Club Members took part in the North Yorkshire Water Park parkrun at Wykeham.

Nicola Carr Walls was the first finisher for the club with second overall of 92, and first Female overall of 29.

Alfie Carr led the club’s Males with fifth overall and fourth Male overall of 57.
