Perrett on top form in Whitby Sea Anglers Association League matches
Dave Perrett has continued his fine recent form in the Whitby Sea Anglers Association League over the past week.
For Wednesday night Sea state 7-8ft ENEasterly swells, heavy surging. A very cold ESEasterly wind gusting 31 mph. Casting and bite detection severely hampered as anglers chased a fast-ebbing tide, and ventured out onto the exposed scaurs only to face the ESEasterly wind gusting 31mph.

Arrivals at the scales were slow, some pushed it for time as they had travelled further afield and fished literally to time 10pm.
Davey Turnbull, Darlington, with just a mop, fished to nigh on time which paid off with the Heaviest Fish, 4lb 4oz, caught at 9.55pm. Only he had a big climb to reach his car, and make the weigh-in in time.
Man of the Match was Perrett, his fourth win from the last five matches, with 6lb 9½oz (3), his best 2lb 12oz.
Sunday was “Bell Trophy” day as 49 anglers from five local clubs gathered for registration at Oasis Café, Scarborough, fishing from 12-4pm.
For the first time in many years there was swell, 4-6ft ENEasterly, thick with colour. Gentle SSEasterly wind 4-6mph, full cloud cover, and no rain. Boundaries, Argle Gulley, Hayburn Wyke to Coble Landing, Filey. Fishing the last two hours of ebb, and two hours of flood.
Only 19 of the 49 anglers had a weigh-in, 37 assorted fish, 78lb 4oz 6drms, one of the best weigh-ins recorded in recent times. As Ian Thompson, Scarborough Rocks secretary said “No team disgraced themselves today, a good weigh-in.”
Filey weighed-in 6 fish for 24lb 4oz 6drms, their Heaviest Fish, 7lb 12oz, fell to D Binnie and Heaviest Bag of Fish A Colling, 3 fish, 12lb 6oz 10drms - giving the team aggregate of 2lb 11oz 2drms, and The Bell Trophy for the 20th time.
Results: Filey team of 9, 6 fish for 2lb 11oz 2drms, Cloughton team of 8, 8 fish 1lb 15oz 6drms, Scarborough Rocks team of 10, 11 fish 1lb 6oz 13drms, Whitby team of 8, 6 fish 1lb 4oz 15drms, Scalby team of 14, 6 fish 15 oz 7 drms.
Sunday's Man of the Match was Denis Thompson, Lythe, his 3lb 3oz (2), his second Heaviest Bag of Fish win.
Heaviest Fish fell to Perrett, 3lb 1oz, his sixth Heaviest Fish win.
