Pirates ready for Premier Division play-off push
Adam Lee’s side were initially placed back in Division One, but a phone call from club chairman Keith Paddock ensured the Eastway-based side retained their place in the top flight.
Coach Lee is now readying his side for a push for the play-offs after a disappointing end to their 2015 campaign, starting with their first pre-season friendly at Beverley on Saturday (2.30pm kick-off).

Hide AdLee said: “The key to this season is getting a settled, strong squad that we can gel, then get stuck into pushing for a play-off place.
“We showed last season that on our day we are good enough to be in the Premier Division and if we get a settled side out, my aim is definitely to get through to another play-off final.”
That view is echoed by chairman Paddock, who wants to see the club’s two sides progress this season.
Paddock said: “The aim is definitely to try and get our first team to that play-off final.

“We are getting good numbers coming to training and we’re looking forward to a positive season.”
One man looking to hit the ground running this season is Harry Sleep, who will be hoping to use his experience of playing for the English Lionhearts in Ukraine last year to positive effect.
“We’re all looking forward to getting going,” said Sleep.
“Numbers are up in training and the lads are ready and raring to go.

“Personally, I’ve been working hard on my fitness and strength. I want to hit the ground running and contribute as much as possible this season.”
