Scarborough RUFC Vikings surge to 61-5 win against Beverley
Scarborough RUFC Vikings ran in nine tries as they put in a dominant performance to beat Beverley 61-5 at Silver Royd on Saturday afternoon.
With the 1st XV and Danesmen games falling to the weather, all attention turned to the Vikings and they made a strong start when Ruben Eves burst through the defence to score.

They then stretched the lead to 14-0, in the 24th minute, as Kyle Winton reached for the line to score his sides’ second try.
Beverley responded emphatically, scoring their only try of the game, before the Vikings ran in two more unanswered tries before the break.

First Winton doubled his tally following a powerful run to the line before James Long bundled through the tackles to score and give his side a comfortable 28-5 lead at the break.
The second half started in similar fashion as the Vikings scored two tries within five minutes to make it 42-5.
Kahu Craig-TeRanga jinked through the tackles to score before Nathanial Baumann spotted a gap in the defence and broke through to score under the posts.
Archie Pickup continued his 100% record from the kicking tee as he made light work of the conversion.

Jason Lowde’s side continued to flex their muscles and ran in another three tries before the end of the game.
Young Tom Kelly finished off a fine move in the 52nd minute before Andy Rossol capitalised on a loose ball to score.
The final try came from Baumann, who doubled his individual tally as he cut through a gap in the defence to score directly under the posts.
An impressive display from the Vikings, who are now in seventh position in the East Championship, and welcome Barton to Silver Royd on Saturday.
Scarborough RUFC’s 1st XV will be hoping for better weather this coming weekend as the Regional 2 North East leaders are set to entertain second-from-bottom side Old Crossleyans.
