Scalby's Beckview Studios unveils its events as part Scarborough Fair Fringe Festival - here's what's on
Award-winning recording and production studio Beckview Studios has revealed its programme for Scarborough Fair Fringe Festival for the third year running.
The Scalby Road venue is hosting the events as part of the festival programme across its live room and studio space.

The Lounge returns to the studio’s performance space, for an intimate, curated evening of performances recorded, filmed, and live-streamed from the studio on Saturday June 13 at 7.30pm.
Headlining the night is TC.KYLIE, a Hong Kong-born jazz keyboardist and composer whose cross-cultural sound fuses Japanese acid jazz, neo-soul, and synth-pop.

Inspired by the likes of Shaun Martin and Robert Glasper, TC.KYLIE has earned praise from the music press for her bold, distinctive musical catalogue.
Her appearance at The Lounge is a reflection of Beckview’s ongoing commitment to bringing boundary-pushing, cross-cultural music to new audiences on the North Yorkshire coast.
Joining the line- up: Mackie
Whitby singer-songwriter Mackie is known for his fingerstyle guitar work, thoughtful songwriting and captivating live performances.

A familiar face across the North Yorkshire music scene, he recorded his latest album at Beckview Studios.
Opening thenNight: Different State
The Pickering alt-rock trio perform a stripped-back acoustic set.
Known for huge riffs, infectious hooks and energetic live shows, they will be showcasing a different side to their songwriting in the intimate studio setting.
The full event will also be live-streamed on Beckview’s YouTube channel, including exclusive artist interviews hosted by Kath Dunn-Mines from Yorkshire Coast Gigs.
The studio space will host One Man Macbeth, a hour-log multimedia solo reimagining of Shakespeare’s tragedy, Thursday, June 18 and Friday, June 19, daily from 7.30pm.
Actor Matt Robair takes on all 12 parts, performed live and on screen by using multi-rolling, projection, lighting control and an original soundtrack.
“A Drum, A Drum, Macbeth doth come.”
Each performance will be followed by a short feedback and question-and-answer session, giving audiences the opportunity to engage with the development of the production.
One of the most exciting actors to emerge from North Yorkshire, Robair has appeared in leading roles across productions including Macbeth, A Christmas Carol, Oliver, and Earthquakes in London.
Alongside its work as a music recording and production space, Beckview also provides professional facilities for actors and voice artists, from showreel recordings to voiceover sessions.
Studio manager Kristina Jones, said: “We’re incredibly happy to be bringing these events to this year’s Scarborough Fair Fringe Festival and especially proud to be presenting The Lounge in association with Scalby Fair.
“We wholeheartedly believe in the arts and the important role they play in strengthening local community, championing creativity, and driving cultural tourism across the Yorkshire coast.”
Festival manager Catherine Goble said: “Beckview Studios has been part of Scarborough Fringe since the inaugural event in 2024, including putting on one of their Lounge experiences for the Winter Fringe last December.
“We are delighted to have them back as part of the Scarborough Fair’s summer season programme for this year too, championing local music and providing a fantastic venue for their event.
“Their involvement with music in the area is immense, supporting musicians on their performing and recording journeys, and we are thrilled that they are delivering another Lounge in conjunction with us again.”
