The model railway show is larger than in previous years and includes the groups own 00 Gauge layout which is set in the Lake District. Since it was exhibited last year, it has been extended to allow through running.

Other layouts on display include Lockwood Street exhibited by the Hull Model railway Society. This layout depicts what might have happened if the Hull’s Cannon Street station had remained open. There are 3 more N gauge layouts being exhibited. One unusual exhibit is the T track presented by the Yorkshire Area Group of N gauge Modellers.

This display consists of a number of modules each constructed by individual members of the group and then joined together to make a much larger layout. The Brick based in South London is making an appearance after a two-year absence.

Several layouts will be making their debut at the Bridlington Show, including Cuthbert Wharf from Local modeller Norman Raven, who was the winner of last year’s popular vote.

A surprise entry this year is Pennhelen Cove a heritage line based in the West Country. Altogether there will be 13 layouts including Have a Go Halt where members of the public will be invited to have a go at shunting trains around the layout.

Members of the public will be able to vote for their favourite layout and the winner will be awarded the Steve Waring Memorial Trophy. There will be a number of traders supporting the show with goods ranging from books to second hand model railway equipment as well as new stock and collectable items.

This year the show is being supported with displays from Bridlington Model Boat Society, their display will include boats and ships constructed by members and a demonstration of model trucks. The Willie Howe Flying club will have a stand showing model aircraft The Bridlington Community Shed will have a stand and there will be displays by other local community groups.
