Back-to-back guest milestones for Bridlington holiday venue
A local holiday cottage owner is celebrating an extraordinary double-milestone, prompting the question of whether a local, or even national, tourism record has been broken.
Sarah Hutchinson, owner of Bessingby Mews Holiday Cottages just outside Bridlington, last week hosted guest Dave, who enjoyed a completely free stay to celebrate a monumental milestone: his 30th holiday at the properties.
But the celebrations didn’t stop there. As Dave departed, he will passed the baton to regular visitors Ann and Brian.
The couple arrived for their free holiday at the weekend, marking an incredible 50th return visit to Bessingby Mews.
Over the decades, they have transformed from regular holidaymakers into an honorary part of the Bessingby Mews family.
To reward this astonishing loyalty, Sarah gifted both milestone bookings their accommodation free of charge.
Sarah Hutchinson said: “To have one guest return 30 times is wonderful, but to have another couple reach 50 visits is just mind-blowing! They love the peace of Bessingby and the warmth of the Bessingby and Bridlington communities.
“I can’t help but wonder if 50 return visits to the exact same holiday cottages is a local record – or perhaps even a Guinness World Record?
“I’d love to know if anyone else along the coast has ever clocked up more miles at their favourite holiday spot!”
