Scarborough RUFC fight back to see off visitors North Ribblesdale 29-10
Scarborough RUFC returned to winning ways after an emphatic second-half fightback saw them beat North Ribblesdale 29-10 at Silver Royd on Saturday afternoon.
Boosted by the return of Ben Foden, Scarborough made an encouraging start to the game and took an early lead in the 10th minute, courtesy of a penalty from the boot of Jack Glansfield.

However, that was as good as it got for the home side, as North Ribblesdale began to assert their dominance and looked threatening for the remainder of the half.
In the 15th minute, the visitors took the lead courtesy of a try from Ben Coultherd. The full-back broke through a tackle before racing clear and scoring to the left of the posts. The conversion drifted wide.

At 5-3, the Silver Royd outfit were dealt a huge blow when Glansfield had to leave the field due to concussion, forcing a reshuffle in the attack.
North Ribblesdale continued to threaten and, with a man advantage following Sam Dawson’s yellow card, went over near the corner after a driving maul. The conversion dropped short, leaving the visitors with a 10-3 lead at the break.
Scarborough came out firing after the interval and immediately went in search of a way back into the game.
In the 44th minute, Jim Mallalieu Black was shown a yellow card for preventing Jordan Wakeham from taking a penalty quickly.

With the man advantage, Scarborough drew level in the 52nd minute. Winger Harry Domett picked up the ball on the edge of the 22 before cutting through the defence to score.
It was not long before the home side were back under the posts, as Wakeham finished off a breath-taking move to score in the 58th minute.
The lead soon increased to 24-10, courtesy of Dawson, who scored from close range to extend his side’s advantage.
The writing looked to be on the wall for North Ribblesdale when Harrison Mathew was shown a yellow card for a high tackle in the 76th minute.

Hungry for a bonus point, Scarborough crossed for their fourth try, with Dawson finishing to the right of the posts to round off a stunning second-half comeback.
Scarborough are back on the road next weekend as they travel north to take on unbeaten Northern.
