A popular fish and chip shop business has introduced a new click and collect app for its customers.

Bosses at the firm said the initial reaction has been exceptional with many people downloading the app the day it was launched.

The Fusco family, which is behind the two Fish Box shops, are no strangers to online ordering facilities, having already set up a click and collect app at their sister shop, Royal Fisheries in Whitby, in December last year.

With the app already up and running prior to lockdown in March, Royal Fisheries was able to open the take-away using the click and collect system to provide a service for the residents of Whitby during the lockdown months.

Adrian Fusco said: “Our customers at Royal Fisheries have enjoyed being able to select their own collection time, pay online and collect without queuing in a safe environment. Setting up the app for Fish Box felt like the next step for us, especially in the current climate.

“We hope that the added delivery service at Fish Box Whitby will also make it easier for customers who are currently shielding.”
