The Duke of York, on Church Street, shut on Saturday after a member of the cleaning crew tested positive for the disease.

The pub said the member of staff had not come into contact with the public.

It posted on social media on Tuesday: "We are back open and have been cleared by the relevant authorities to be so.

"Thanks for everyone’s understanding in these difficult times, but rest assured we are 100 per cent safe to serve you going forward."
