'A privilege to stand alongside our community': Bridlington Armed Forces Day hailed a success

Bridlington Armed Forces Day was once again very well attended with residents and visitors showing their appreciation for serving members and veterans.

The day, which is always very popular, saw the parade step off from War Memorial Gardens before winding its way through the town centre and finishing near the Bridlington Lifeboat station, with people lining the route to show their support.

There were stalls and military vehicles near the lifeboat station with the RNLI hailing the event.

An RNLI spokesperson said: “It is a privilege to stand alongside so many organisations and members of our community as we recognise the brave men and women who have served, and continue to serve, our country with courage, commitment and sacrifice.

“Representatives from Hull 4 Heroes, the Sea Cadets, Army Cadets, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, Royal British Legion, Humberside Police, Humberside Fire & Rescue Service, and the Army re-enactment group have all come together to help make this a fitting tribute to our Armed Forces.

“Thank you to everyone who has taken part and shown their support today. Together, we honour those who have given so much in service to our nation.”

Bridlington Neighbourhood Policing Team One, which also attended the Armed Forces Day, added: “It was great to meet our local community and be part of a fantastic event for our town.”
