“We expect tough games every week and this is what we want to test our lads.

“Pleasing to see three young lads make their debuts for the club, Kian Hide, Rueben Taylor and Jacob Hakings.”

With 19 players available to pick from, we went into the game virtually at full strength and started brightly. On 10 minutes a handball in the box saw the referee award Edgehill a penalty, Robbie Scarborough stepped up and smashed it home.

Both teams worked incredibly hard during the opening 30 minutes, with Hull missing a great chance to equalise when firing over from close range.

Hull were then reduced to 10 men after a player was sin-binned, but rather than slowing them down, it seemed to spur them on. They were awarded a penalty on 35 minutes and Tom Williams converted to make it 1-1.

Five minutes after the restart, Hull were down to 10 again as the same player picked up a second yellow for a challenge on Joe Gallagher.

Ten minutes later, Hull were reduced to nine, as a Hull player threw the ball at the head of 16-year-old Theo Watson, leaving the referee with no option but to produce a straight red card.

On the hour mark, Josh Pickin, making his first competitive appearance in two years after recovering from an ACL injury, delivered a fantastic cross for Robbie Scarborough to tap home his second.

Ten minutes from time, 16-year-old Artie Dodds put the game beyond doubt, heading home to seal a first-ever HPL victory for Edgehill

Robbie Scarborough was named man of the match for his two goals and a huge contribution. Watson and Ryan Link put in solid performances.
