Community and collaboration at heart of new exhibition at Scarborough's Old Parcels Office
The Old Parcels Office Artspace invites visitors to discover Wonders of the Wild, a vibrant exhibition celebrating the beauty, diversity and wonder of the natural world through art, creativity and community collaboration.
The exhibition brings together six local artists and six community groups who have worked side-by-side to create an extraordinary collection of large-scale sculptures inspired by flora and fauna.

Using recycled and repurposed materials, the artworks explore the wildlife, landscapes and ecosystems found along the Yorkshire Coast and beyond, while encouraging conversations about creativity, sustainability and our connection to nature.
The collaborative projects feature:

Caroline (Bobby) Hick working with SPARKS
Charlotte Hill working with Scarborough & District Mencap
Simon Doughty working with the Rainbow Centre
Dan Parker working with Gallows Close Community Centre

Katie Gill working with Cross Lane Mental Health Unit
Jayne Shipley working with Scarborough Hall Care Home and Yorkshire Coast Sight Support
Together, the artists and participants have transformed everyday discarded materials into imaginative creatures, plants and habitats, creating an exhibition that celebrates both the natural world and the power of community creativity.
Alongside these collaborative artworks, Gallery 2 presents a display of wildlife photography by four talented local photographers: Stephen Beaver, Philip Bennett, Christine Skelton and Robert Whitten.
Their images capture the flora and fauna that can be found on the doorstep, from insects and fungi to birds, mammals and coastal landscapes, revealing the richness and diversity of local wildlife through the lens of those who know it best.
Wonders of the Wild offers something for visitors of all ages, combining art, nature and community stories in a colourful and inspiring summer exhibition.
Whether you aree a wildlife enthusiast, an art lover or looking for a family day out, the exhibition provides an opportunity to see the natural world from fresh perspectives and celebrate the creativity in the community.
Wonders of the Wild is on at the Old Parcels Office, Scarborough Railway Station, from now until Sunday August 9. Entry is free.
