Malton's Library Bar named finalist in Yorkshire Post Tourism Awards 2026
Malton’s hidden speakeasy has been recognised for its distinctive hospitality and contribution to the community.
The Library Bar in Malton has been named a finalist in the Best Pub category of the Yorkshire Post Tourism Awards 2026, recognising its distinctive approach to hospitality and its contribution to the town’s thriving independent food and drink scene.

Winners will be announced at a ceremony in Leeds on November 30, celebrating the outstanding businesses that help make Yorkshire a leading destination for visitors.
Hidden in plain sight in a characterful listed building in the heart of Malton, The Library Bar offers a different kind of experience, combining its speakeasy setting with a carefully curated drinks menu and more than 200 whiskies. Its knowledgeable and local team prides itself on making everyone feel welcome, whether they are seasoned whisky enthusiasts or simply looking to discover something new.
The finalist nomination also reflects the bar’s commitment to the wider Malton community. Alongside investment in its listed building, The Library Bar is home to the Malton Whisky Society, which brings people together through monthly tastings and events, while championing Yorkshire distilleries and independent local businesses.
Bartender, Ben Clark added, “It’s no surprise to see The Library Bar named a finalist. We have a brilliant community of people who support us, come back time and again, and help make the bar what it is. It’s great to see that recognised, because it’s about so much more than what’s in the glass – it’s the people and the atmosphere that make it special.”
The team is delighted to be shortlisted among Yorkshire’s hospitality businesses and looks forward to the awards ceremony next month.
