A spokesperson for the Rotary Club of Scarborough said: “Richard has a great year and has been able to forge strong links with other Rotary Clubs in the area.

“He has, through his ‘president's charity’, raised over £5,000 for Carers Plus Yorkshire a charity which helps people who require care and support.

“Andy has chosen Future Works North Yorkshire as his chosen good cause for the forthcoming year and is looking forward to the year ahead.

“Future Works helps youngsters to find a way of developing outside the traditional educational framework.”

Mr Dean said that he had thoroughly enjoyable year as club president and thanked everyone for their support and fellowship.

Mr Nattrass, in taking up the role, said that he is excited and honoured to be leading the club in 2026/27 and hopes to encourage more like minded people to join the club which has in recent years celebrated 100 years of service in the community.

The club meets every Monday evening at the Scarborough Rugby Club.
