Scarborough Scout groups embark on trip of a lifetime to Disneyland Paris
Forty eight Scouts, Explorers and their adult volunteers from two Scout groups in Scarborough - Derwent Valley and 2nd Scarborough (Earl of Londesborough Own) - embarked on an adventure of a lifetime to Disneyland Paris.
Travelling overnight by coach to Dover before crossing the Channel by ferry to Calais, excitement was running high from the start.
After arriving in France, the group enjoyed some well-earned relaxation with access to the hotel pool, an all-you-can-eat buffet and a decent night's sleep before spending two magical days in Disneyland Paris.
The trip provided so much more than just rides and attractions.
The young people grew in confidence, embraced new experiences, met people from around the world and demonstrated a fantastic "have a go" attitude throughout.
They were a credit to Derwent Valley Scout Group every step of the way.
Sarah Malia, group scout leader, said: “This incredible adventure would not have been possible without the support of our local community.
"Through fundraising events, donations and encouragement, you helped make this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity a reality for our young people.
“Thank you to everyone who supported us.
"The memories made, friendships strengthened and experiences gained will stay with our Scouts and Explorers for many years to come.”
