Six new members join Scarborough Neighbourhood Board to help shape town's future
Six new members have joined the Scarborough Neighbourhood Board, bringing local knowledge and experience to help shape the town's future through the £19.5 million Pride in Place programme.
Sam Baker, Karon Wallis, Geoff Osguthorpe, Arwen Williams, Heidi Marston and Nick Taylor have been appointed to the Board, which is overseeing the locally led, ten-year investment programme.

Their arrival comes as Pride in Place moves into its next stage, with the first agreed projects progressing.
These include town centre improvements, arts and culture and community wellbeing activities, and opportunities for young people.
Heath Samples, Chair of the Scarborough Neighbourhood Board, said: “It's great to welcome new members to the Board, each bringing their own experience, ideas
and perspective on Scarborough.
“We've got a real opportunity with Pride in Place, and it's important that we have people around the table who care about the town and want to help make things happen.
"We're moving into an exciting stage of the programme, and I'm looking forward to working with our new members as we turn plans into progress.”
Among the new members is Nick Taylor, who first came to Scarborough 40 years ago to work in hotel management.
He later went on to lead the Renaissance of Scarborough initiative and continues to work as a consultant following his recent retirement.
Nick Taylor said: “Scarborough has the most amazing capacity to embrace change.
"The people are at the heart of the place, and the level of selflessness, time given and volunteering already underway is remarkable.
“We need to build on that, create a more positive story about Scarborough and make sure our town centre is somewhere we can all be proud of.”
The Board brings together people from across Scarborough's communities, businesses and organisations, providing a range of perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing the town.
With the first projects now progressing, the focus is increasingly on turning plans into practical improvements, building confidence and ensuring local people can see how investment is making a difference.
The six new members will be formally introduced at the next meeting of the Scarborough Neighbourhood Board.
