Whitby's The Mayfield Care Home to hold Western-themed summer rodeo
The Mayfield Care Home in Whitby is hosting a Summer Rodeo – and would like to invite the public to attend and support the occasion.
The Western-themed event at the Stakesby Road-based home will run from noon on Friday July 31 and is an opportunity for staff and residents to socialise and to get together with the community for a fun-filled afternoon while enjoying the summer sun.
Entertainment will include live music, Western-themed games, hog roast, cake stall and tombola.
Fancy dress is optional, but staff and residents will be dressing up for the occasion so there will be gingham and bandanas aplenty.

Guests are invited to don their best cowboy and cowgirl outfits should they wish to.
Zöe Beeforth, Lifestyle Assistant at The Mayfield, said: “It’s easy to feel isolated when living in a care home setting and, although we have a vibrant schedule of daily activities, we love these events which enable residents at the Mayfield to maintain links with the local community and share an enjoyable afternoon with family and friends.
"If we can raise funds for a local charity while doing that, then even better.”
Any proceeds made will be donated to Brads Pad Charity, a purpose-built respite holiday home in Scarborough that provides seriously ill children and their families with a luxury retreat.
The Mayfield would be grateful for donations of homemade cakes and tombola prizes for their stall.
