Arran Liddle battled away with a crucial 37 for the visitors, Ewan Mould hitting 22 and Tom Benney 21.

Steve Parker’s excellent 4-25 turned the game in Grosmont’s favour, with support from Liddle (2-19) and Joe Macdonald (2-35) as Brompton slipped to 95 all out, Harry Pawson hitting a defiant 26 and veteran Robin Siddle 23.

Ebberston 2nds also earned their second win in two as they triumphed by six wickets at Bridlington 3rds.

Opener Greg Miller’s stunning 94 was the mainstay of Brid’s innings, hitting 16 fours, while Jack Lee added 35 and Steve Lount 28 had helped the hosts to 163-2 before they collapsed to 191 all out thanks to a brilliant 5-24 from Paul Goodenough and Simon Fletcher’s impressive 4-45.

Leon Stafford then smashed 66 in reply, with opener Jake Warters (56no) and Fletrcher (23no) steering Ebberston to a win with 192-4.

A five-wicket haul from Mike Mulryne proved to be in vain for Scarborough 2nds as their game at Staxton was rained off with the North Marine Road club in control of the match.

Mulryne snapped up 5-40 as Staxton were all out for 158 in 35.4 overs, Andy Dove top-scoring with 52 while there was 22 apiece from skipper Paul Russell and Kev Armstrong.

Tom Bussey’s 57no had Scarborough in control on 125-3 from 27 overs when rain halted play, the visitors only needing 34 more runs to win.

The Snainton v Glaisdale match was more in the balance when the wet weather wiped out this encounter.

James Wilson took 3-44 as Snainton restricted the visitors to 157-7, opener Tom Wardell top-scoring with 34, and Wilson hit 29 before rain stopped play with the hosts 74-3 after 14.3 overs.

Ravenscar v Wykeham 2nds was cancelled without a ball being bowled.

Sherburn 2nds eased to a six-wicket Division 4 win at Wold Newton.

The visitors were skittled for only 62 runs in 20.1 overs, Jake Peckitt snapping up 4-16, Daley Wharton 3-22 and Jordan Collins 2-16.

Veteran Lee Jack’s composed 29 not out guided Sherburn to a victorious 65-4 in 15.3 overs, Brad Gregory and Kyle Orange taking two wickets apiece.

Scarborough Rugby Club cruised to an eight-wicket success at Forge Valley 2nds.

Skipper Aaron Kaya top-scored for Valley with 46no, but no other home batsman made it to double figures as they slumped to 89 all out in 21.4 overs, Mark Tennant taking an excellent 4-22 in 10 overs and Mark Kelly a brilliant 3-9 in just 3.4 overs.

Rob Hazledine struck 32no and George Elliott 27no as the visitors eased to 90-2 in 18.5 overs.

Reuben Elliott and T Jones took four wickets apiece to help Scalby 3rds to a four-wicket win at Filey 2nds.

Opener Lewis East struck a stunning 54no out of Filey’s 82 all out in just 20 overs, Elliott bagging 4-18 and Jones 4-9.

Ellery Liley’s 3-30 kept the hosts in the game, but Jones’ 31no steered Scalby to 85-6 in 24 overs.

Thornton Dale 2nds skipper Andy Parsons’ magnificent 101 not out proved to be in vain as his side’s home game against Wykeham 3rds was abandoned.

The captain hammered 16 fours and a six in his 66-ball ton as Dale reached 194-9 in their 40 overs, rain stropping play while tea was being taken.

Debbie Farrington was the top Wykeham bowler with 3-29 in her seven overs.

Glaisdale 2nds v Ravenscar 2nds was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
