Scarborough batted first and despite the early losses posted a competitive total of 154-6, Alfred Denton leading the way with 56 and supported by skipper Archie Hammond’s 46 not out.

Filey made a strong start but after the chase slowed in the middle overs after some tight bowling led by Kieran Rutter’s astounding 6-26, they ultimately fell short.

The same teams then faced up in the league decider on Tuesday night.

The game saw the North Marine Road outfit run out as winners again as they chased down Filey's 108, led by Harry Pawson's 26.

Scarborough opener James Denton hit 25, followed by strong batting from Indy Ellwood (28no), and they chased down the total with a over in hand to complete a league and cup double, undefeated in the 2026 season.

Forge Valley eased past Ebberton 2nds to secure the Scarborough Hospital Bowl.

Valley won the toss and elected to field first, a move that provided instant success as Luke Calvert and Steve Bates (2-28) reduced Ebberston to 33-3.

Reece Milner struck 26, but a fine partnership of 58 between Eddie Swiers (50no) and Tom Horsley, who made 20, rallied their side to a respectable 113-5 from 20 overs.

Calvert finished with figures of 3-24.

Charlie Ionascu wasted no time in Valley’s reply, smashing the ball to all parts as he struck 69 from just 40 balls, paving the way for Charlie Baldwin (25no) to seal the eight-wicket win in just 12.2 overs.

The competition president Mick Blackborrow presented the trophy to Forge Valley captain Ionascu and also presented a cheque for £1,000 to Eleanor Paterson from the Scarborough Hospital League of Friends.
