Scarborough Athletic's trip to Matlock Town tomorrow has been postponed due to a Covid related incident - the Gladiators confirmed.

Boro boss Darren Kelly is frustrated the game at the Proctor Cars Stadium is off, but admits the health and safety of everyone concerned must be the priority.

Kelly said: "It's frustrating for everyone concerned, but what can you do about it at the end of the day?

"The health and safety of people is the priority in these difficult times and Matlock had no choice but to call the game off."

Kelly will instead call his players in for an extra training session as they switch their attentions to Tuesday night's match at Basford United.

"We had to call Thursday night's training session off due to the amount of knocks and niggles in the group.

"We'll get the players in on Saturday and have a good look at them though as we prepare for Basford.

"Having a few extra days to recuperate will only help us get players back to 100% fitness, particularly the likes of Josh Barrett and Michael Coulson.

"We'll get back on the training pitch and try to get in the best possible shape for Tuesday night."
