Nine Scarborough Athletics Club members competed in the third race of the Esk Valley Fell Club’s Winter Series of races, the Lockton Limping, around the North Yorkshire Moors village of Lockton.

The 11.2k course had 350 metres of climb and the first finisher for the club and 121st overall was Daniel Bateson, who also headed the list in the over-45 men’ age category.

He was followed by Paul Lawton, in third overall and first over-40.

Daniel Watson was 20th and sixth over-45 with Robert Bailey, 60th and ninth senior man, completing the third scoring team of eight.

David Lester, 88th and eighth over-50, along with David Parke, 93rd and first over-75, provided the team’s backup.

The club’s women were led by Hester Butterworth, who was eighth woman and first over-55. She was followed by Marianne Borsheim, 12th and second over-55, while Sally Kingscott completed the fifth placed team as 27th woman and first over-60.

Elsewhere, 24 club members took part in the latest Woodlands Scarborough parkrun.

The first club finisher was Dale Hepples who was ninth overall of 187 and first over-50. The club’s women were led by Liv Bourne who was first woman overall of 75.

Daniel Bateson was first back for the club in the Lockton Limping.

Fifteen Club members took part in the latest Wykeham parkrun and leading the way was Nicola Kidd, who was first woman overall of 65 and first over-40.

The club’s men were led by Christian Brown, who was 22nd overall of 173 and second over-50.
