Hackness and Scarborough Ladies secure 6-3 win at Pocklington
Once again the weather caused problems for the Hackness and Scarborough Tennis Club teams in the Driffield and District Tennis League last week.
The Ladies A team won 6-3 at Pocklington B in Division Two.

All the visiting pairs had a good night with sisters Sue Kendall and Jacki Speakman together, Maria Jackson with Sue Crocker and Lisa Gillespie with Hazel Cross.
The Mixed A and B teams managed to complete their matches in Division Three, although with opposing results.
The Mixed A team had a fine 9-0 win at Long Riston, the farthest they have to travel.
Rob Berry and Sue Crocker continued their fine form with three fairly easy victories. They were well supported by Steve Brindle and his regular partner Lisa Gillespie and Mark Draper with Maria Jackson all of whom took three rubbers.
The Mixed B team however were well beaten 8-1 by Pocklington C at Hackness.
Bryan Edwards and partner Vicki Calow took the one rubber but Nathan Whiting with Sue Barraclough and Dave Flinton and Sue Kendall fought hard all evening but to no avail.
It was the third successive away win for the new Mixed C team as they triumphed 8-1 at Driffield Recreation C in another impressive Division 5 performance.
Tom Hunt with his usual partner Louise Attley gained three rubbers as did Steve Jepson and Abi Coates. Paul Davidson with Holly Sprintall added two rubbers but lost a tie-break.
The Men’s A team lost 7-2 at strong title contenders Market Weighton A, but this was no disgrace as all the pairs performed well.
Tom Hunt and Rob Berry took two rubbers, PJ Guthrie played with Louis Fell and Roger Amstell partnered Marcus Brown but this team has played above expectations so far this season.
There were excellent wins for both the Men’s C and D teams.
The C team won a tricky encounter 6-3 at Bridlington B after some very tight games.
Much of the credit goes to Dave Flinton and David Mitchell who won a vital tie-break in the second round.
All the pairs won two rubbers with Mark White and usual partner Dan Marr and Jim Mellor with John Reay.
The success of the D team made up almost entirely of juniors continues to the credit of the club as they won 7-2 at their Hackness home against Driffield LTC C in Division 7.
Joe Bolland and partner Cameron Smith took all three rubbers including a tie-break while father and son Tom and Steve Brindle added two as did Toby Bramley with Benja Buric.
