Kirkbymoorside trio win Castleton, Danby & District Bowls Club Whistlestop
Castleton, Danby and District Bowls Club held their annual Whistlestop fundraiser on Saturday on their excellent home green.
Sponsored by Steve Duck of Integral Collections, the bowlers enjoyed a full day of sport with refreshment and raffle provided in Castleton Village Hall.
Competition proved strong throughout with a full entry of 24 trios competing for the trophy, plus prize money, of course, meant organisation had to be pretty slick, and it was.
After many close games, there remained only one unbeaten team, the Kirkbymoorside trio of M. Richardson, P. Kent, and T. Rex, with 10 points.
Runners-up – decided 25 to 21 on shot difference, with 8 points were Saltburn’s C. Doe, B. Scollett, and C Thompson.
CDDBC would like to thank everyone taking part, organisation, food, raffle, supporters, etc, or helped in any way to make this such a successful event.
