Lythe Community Shop near Whitby to stay open thanks to support of new volunteers
Lythe Community Shop is to stay open.
The shop on the village’s High Street had been facing an uncertain future, with a last call made for new volunteers and committee members to step forward to avoid the risk of closure.
But the good news is that the shop has announced that, thanks to the support of new volunteers who have stepped forward, the shop will now stay open.
The management committee thank its customers and all volunteers and staff for their support.
The store in Lythe has been a central point of the village and the surrounding area for around 150 years and since 2014, has been run by local people as a community benefit society.
