Bridlington Pride’s announces new venue as it starts funding campaign

A major fundraising campaign is underway as Bridlington Pride revealed a new venue to host the event.

Bridlington Pride 2027, which will be held on Saturday, July 3, will take place at Bridlington CYP on Gypsey Road.

This sees the big day move away from the Bridlington Spa, which had previously hosted the event.

Last year, a one-off Bridlington Pride inspired day took place at the Old Lifeboat Station on South Marine Drive after the main event had to be cancelled due to rising coats.

Organisers of the day are hoping to raise £7,500 to stage next year’s event and are also looking to attract more volunteers.

They have set up a Go Fund Me page to make it easier for people to support the campaign.

A spokesperson said: “Bridlington Pride will be applying for funding from local organisations and sponsorship from local businesses, but in the current economic climate, it is expected that this will not be enough to cover the full cost.

“This is why we’re appealing to the local community to help and make it an event that is completely FREE to enter and accessible to everyone.

“Any donation amount will help make an impact.

“In addition, we are in desperate need for volunteers to join our committee and take on roles to make the 2027 event happen. If you would like to get involved, please email [email protected].”

The event is estimated to cost at least £7,500 for the following:

• £2,500 for the hire of the CYP venue

• £2,000 for entertainment (performers and hosts)

• £1,000 for marketing

• £600 for security provision

• £550 for medical provision

• £550 for event insurance

• £300 for the hire of a PA trailer
