Scarborough free school uniform giveaway returns this October
Families will be able to pick up free school uniforms in Scarborough later this month as a community initiative returns to help households and reduce clothing waste.
Scarborough Uniform Recycle will hold its next giveaway event from Tuesday, October 27, to Thursday, October 29, at Westborough Methodist Church.
All items will be completely free, and anyone is welcome to attend.
The volunteer-led initiative has been collecting and redistributing free school uniforms since 2021, helping families facing financial pressures while ensuring unwanted clothing is reused rather than sent to landfill.
Since launching, Scarborough Uniform Recycle has provided uniforms to more than 2,000 children and hopes to continue supporting local families through its upcoming giveaway.
The project aims to ease the cost of school clothing for parents and carers while promoting sustainability by giving pre-loved uniforms a new lease of life.
