The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have described their new baby boy as having the "sweetest temperament" as they showed him off in public for the first time.

Posing for pictures in St George's Hall in Windsor Castle, only two days after the new prince's birth, the Duchess said, "It's magic, it's pretty amazing."

'I'm really happy'

Meghan added, "I have the two best guys in the world so I'm really happy.

"He's just been the dream so it's been a special couple of days. He has the sweetest temperament."

Prince Harry, who was holding his son, joked, "I don't know who he gets that from."

Asked who the baby takes after, Meghan said the couple were still trying to work it out.

Harry added, "Everyone says that babies change so much over two weeks. We're basically monitoring how the changing process happens over this next month really. But his looks are changing every single day, so who knows."

When asked how he was finding parenting, Harry commented, "It's great. Parenting is amazing.

"It's only been two-and-a-half days, three days, but we're just so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy."

Meghan said, "Thank you everybody for all the well wishes and kindness, it just means so much."

No name yet

The name of the baby has not yet been announced, and is seventh in line to the throne.

The child is the Queen's eight great-grandchild and the Prince of Wales's fourth grandchild.

He was both on Monday 6 May at 5.26am weighing 7lb 3oz.
