Howzat? New kit for young Scalby cricketers following Proudfoot donation
Two newly-formed teams of young cricketers are celebrating after being awarded £500 from Proudfoot’s Making A Difference Locally (MADL) charity.
Scalby Cricket Club’s All Stars and Dynamos teams meet every Thursday to enthusiastically practice bowling, batting and fielding.
Chairman of Scalby Cricket Club, Daniel, said “We will be using the £500 to purchase playing kit for our newly formed Under-11s and Under-13s teams at Scalby Cricket Club.
“We have already purchased some playing equipment, but they don’t have any playing kits and these are desperately needed.”
Proudfoot Director, Valerie Aston, said: “We were delighted to meet the young people of Scalby Cricket Club.
“Scalby Cricket Club is an amazing group, enabling and offering opportunities to learn and play cricket from an early age.
“It was great to see everyone and see the positive impact our MADL donation will have.
“We were delighted to be able to support this group to continue the valuable work they do with so many young people from the Scarborough area.”
