Seamer sink old rivals Scalby to edge closer to promotion
Seamer edged closer to promotion from YPLN Championship East with a hard-earned 29-run home win against old rivals Scalby.
After having been put into bat by Scalby, solid batting from opener Pierz Bradi Cyster (36 in 58 balls) and Gregg Chadwick (67 from 95 deliveries) steered Seamer into a solid position at 98-1, but the three-pronged Scalby bowling attack of skipper Lachlan Cooke (3-42 in 13 overs), Paul Hesp (3-35 in 9.3 overs) and Nathan Valentine (3-27 in seven overs) saw the hosts lose their last eight wickets for 42 runs.

Having also made a reasonably safe start at 57-1, Scalby then suffered a collapse to 133 all out despite the best efforts of Cooke (22) as Matty Morris’ bowling proved too hot for the visitors to handle, as he bagged a brilliant 5-26 in 13 overs.
Toby Jones offered excellent support to Morris with 3-32 from 9.2 overs.

Flixton suffered a 124-run defeat at home to South Holderness, but still remain fourth and on the verge of promotion, needing only two points from their final game of the season at fifth-placed Hull Zingari 2nds this coming Saturday.
The away team won the toss and chose to bat first. Rich Rosindale (39), Ashley Wills (37) and Richard Ingram (26) made a brisk start before James Dunning (77no) with explosive hitting and Luke Riley (33no) took the innings total to 280-6.
Harry Walmsley took 3-30.
The Flixton reply was given a solid start by Will Hutchinson with 49 but wickets soon fell, the innings closing on 156 all out in 33.3 overs.

Shaun Tate, 4 for 33, and Ashley Wills, 3 for 40, were the main reasons for the collapse.
Scarborough slipped to a four-wicket loss at home to Hull Zingari 2nds.
Opener Mike Mulryne struck a superb 58 from 115 balls, sharing a stand of 59 for the third wicket with Brad Milburn (22), fellow opening bat Ben Squires having struck 29 in 37 deliveries and Archie Hammond 15.
The hosts were in a decent position at 121-2, but slumped to 188 all out in 49.5 overs, mainly due to the outstanding bowling of Zingari's Laurence Wilkinson, who finished up with an excellent 5-38 from his 13 overs, T Zaman also chipping in with three wickets.
Openers Daniel Mould (62) and Faraz Dar (41), along with number three bat Zaman (29), gave the visitors a solid foundation, and despite fine bowling from Squires (3-38 in nine overs) and Kieran Rutter (2-29 in 9.2 overs), the visitors won with 191-6 from 47.2 overs.
Wykeham ensured they will not finish the season bottom of the table after they earned a 58-run success at home to basement club Hornsea.
The hosts won the toss and chose to bat, Malachi Harry dominating with an impressive 85 from 122 balls, including seven fours and two sixes, while number eight bat Ryan Souter added a swift 27 from 20 balls, including three fours and a six, before Wykeham were finally dismissed for 198 in 47.3 overs.
Doug Griebenouw took 4-60 for the visitors.
Josh Grover’s astounding 5-24 helped skittle the away team for 140 in 40.2 overs, Liam Eyre and all-rounder Harry taking two wickets apiece.
