Boro Girls U14s/U15s earn point against leaders Brooklyn Tigers
Scarborough Athletic Girls Under-14s and Under-15s took on York League leaders Brooklyn Tigers in a thriller.
The Scarborough Athletic Girls started with passion and purpose, defining and demonstrating technical qualities with a desire to promote learning into live play.
Ava unearthed a brilliant sweeper keeper role to progress play through the thirds, Lacey once again showing great adaptation of technical skills and game understanding playing alongside a dominant Poppy, Sophia and Elle, who guided their tracking and recovery lines superbly.
Boro pressed from the outset, forging combination and connections to create a plethora of opportunities in the opposition’s final third.
Resilient performances from Deste, Maddison, Sophie, and Naia, with Evie desperately trying to gain momentum in wide areas, creating an array of chances for Olivia who peppered the opposition keeper with some super shots, until she finally broke the deadlock to make it 1-0 to Boro.
Then with the introduction of Lila and Leah the Girls continually forged forward in search of more goals until Brooklyn equalised late in the first half.
The Boro Girls revisited where they left off, posing and probing to find differing ways to connect and constantly searching for the winning formula.
Despite creating several more game changing opportunities Boro were unable to secure the win and the game concluding in a 1-1 draw.
Several of the girls displayed strong performances with the Girl of the Game finally resting with Poppy.
