I’m delighted to be here and I can’t wait to start implementing my own ideas and philosophies which should help us pick up results.

It’ll take time for the trust to be built but once it is everyone will get to see exactly how I work.

As a manager I like to see maximum effort and professionalism both on and off the pitch and hopefully I can get this across to the players immediately.

In terms of the playing side, I have a large database full of players and I have to take some time first to assess our squad and see where our weaknesses lie.

It’s a clean slate for everyone and the players have to show me that they want to be here and put on the shirt.

Some of these players are the best in the league on their day and if they can believe in the process the results will speak for themselves.

I know that Dave (Merris) and Steve (Roberts) are doing a superb job at the club and hopefully these next few weeks will give me a chance to get everyone singing off the same hymn sheet.

There were plenty of reasons for me wanting to be the new manager, the stature of the club and the potential speaks for itself.

The crowds they receive both home and away are superb and if we can sustain these it’ll definitely give us a boost on the field.

I want to bring good results for the crowds who spend their hard-earned money on watching us.

The other factors were that I had played for the club, the location was perfect for me as well but also the ambition of the board.

When you arrive at a new club to hear the board’s aims it fills you with increased confidence and positivity.

I like to play a specific style of football (3-4-2-1 or 3-5-2) but obviously I only have one centre-back available so I have to be flexible and see which formation would best fit the team as a whole.

Recruitment will be required if we are lacking in certain areas which will ultimately allow me to play my own preferred style.

I now have the chance to work with the squad who are at the club and get them ready for the next few games, starting at home to Whitby.

I understand that the fans have had a tough season but I will bring success back to this club.

It’s all about patience and understanding the process, if we all give it 110% i am confident that we can start looking towards the top of the league rather than the bottom.

Let’s endeavour to make the Flamingo Land Stadium a fortress both on and off the field and keep encouraging the boys no matter the result.
