The culinary event, hosted by The Scarborough News and The Yorkshire Post, was scheduled to take place from May 8 to May 10 at the Scarborough Open Air Theatre.

The event would have celebrated the 75th anniversary of VE Day with chefs and food producers from across the region giving demonstrations.

However, in light of the current Covid-19 pandemic, like many others the organisers have taken the decision to cancel this year's event.

They said: "The safety of our staff, motor dealers and attending guests is paramount and we believe that in alignment with recent Government advice this is the correct action to take.

"We are now in the process of contacting all stall holders that have booked a stand. Everyone will be given a full refund."
