High winds trigger busy weekend for fire crews across Scarborough, Bridlington and surrounding areas
Firefighters across the coast responded to several emergency calls over the weekend, dealing with wind damage, fallen trees, caravan fires, and other hazards.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews were called out to multiple incidents across Scarborough, Bridlington, Malton, and surrounding areas from Friday, October 23 to Sunday, October 25.

At 11.05pm on Friday, Scarborough crews attended reports of a large beam falling outside a property on Valley Bridge Parade.
At the scene, firefighters found only a small piece of wood had fallen from the building front, with no structural damage to the retaining wall.
Crews cleared the scene after giving advice to the occupant.
On Saturday morning at 11.52am, Malton firefighters responded to reports of flames in grassland on Main Street in Wharram Le Street.
A hose reel jet was used to dampen down the 1m x 1m area, with the fire out on arrival.
At 3.37pm, Malton firefighters then attended an incident at Pine Tree Avenue in Rillington, to inspect a hybrid vehicle that smelled of burning.
Using a thermal imaging camera it was confirmed that no smoke or heat was detected, and the car was left with a responsible person to await recovery.
Shortly after, at 3.45pm, crews in Bridlington cordoned off two properties on Windsor Crescent, after high winds left roof tiles loose.
Severe weather made immediate removal unsafe.
In Sherburn at 5.56pm, a large incident required multiple crews from Malton, Kirkbymoorside, Helmsley, and two Humberside appliances to tackle a yard skip fire that had spread to a caravan and nearby timber.
High winds threatened to spread the blaze to neighbouring properties, but firefighters split the scene into sections to prevent the flames from travelling.
Later that evening, at 7.34pm, crews inspected a bungalow in Scarborough after a tree fell onto its roof.
Determining that the tree had come to rest on the roof with no damage caused, no action was required by those in attendance, as the occupant was unhurt.
Early Sunday morning at 3.01am, crews from Scarborough and Robin Hood's Bay attended an electrical server fire in a Scarborough building.
Using four breathing apparatus sets, two hose reels, and thermal imaging cameras, the blaze was extinguished.
Later at 7.33am, a Scarborough crew attended an incident on The Boulevard in Eastfield, where they physically lifted a shed roof which was hanging dangerously over a neighbouring property.
The area was secured and advice was given.
High winds caused further hazards throughout Sunday across Bridlington and Flamborough.
At 9.23am, firefighters attended an incident on North Marine Road in Flamborough, where an extraction flue had been blown into a dangerous position.
Crews secured the flue with ratchet straps and the area was cordoned off.
At 9.40am, Bridlington fire crews attended a collapsed balcony on South Marine Drive.
After carrying out an inspection, a safety cordon was put in place.
Later, at 1.28pm, a loose telephone cable on Postill Square in Bridlington was made safe by firefighters, before notifying British Telecom.
