Boro slipped to a frustrating 1-0 defeat at struggling Stafford as they were reduced to 10 men when Wayne Brooksby was sent off.

Kelly is demanding an immediate response from his side when Ashton visit the Flamingo Land Stadium on Saturday.

“It’s incredibly important that we bounce straight back from what was a disappointing result,” said Kelly.

“We’re unbeaten in six at home since I took over though and I want that to continue.

“I have said from the start that I wanted to make the Flamingo Land Stadium to be a fortress that opposition players and managers don’t like coming to and that needs to continue this weekend.

“The supporters play a huge part in that and they have been fantastic since I came to the club so I hope that continues and they see past the short term issues and see the long-term planning that is going on at the club.”

Kelly will be without the suspended Brooksby for the visit of Ashton, while T’Nique Fishley (pictured left) will be joining up with Yorkshire Amateur on a dual registration basis to get some game time.

“Wayne will be suspended for Ashton and T’Nique has gone in to Yorkshire Amateur to get some game time,” he added.

“Kian Spence and Kieran Glynn could come back in this weekend.

“We will have to have a look at them and see how they hold up after training.”
